Active Seniors Make Great GALs!

The Golden Years aren’t what they used to be!  More and more, our population’s seniors are looking for ways to get out of the house, stay active and continue to make an impact in their communities. By becoming a child advocate volunteer for the Guardian ad Litem program, seniors can make a difference in a child’s life forever by becoming their voice in the court system.

The GAL Program attended the Active Boomers and Seniors Expo, held at University of North Florida on Saturday, March 25, 2017.  Some of our current senior volunteers assisted in recruiting their peers from the community.

There are roughly 1,200 children assigned to GAL in any given month. That’s 1,200 children in Duval, Clay and Nassau counties that need a voice in the courtroom. They need an advocate. They need a superhero. With 21 new leads from this event, we are a few steps closer to our recruitment goals. Become a senior superhero!
